There are many things that are happening below the surface of the new Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus that you choose. In addition to the more powerful Snapdragon 845 processor that turns on the latest Samsung phones, the S9 / S9 Plus runs the Google Oreo Android operating system. 1. Lock the Screen on Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus
Samsung S9 / S9 Plus does not reduce security, not only offers fingerprint sensors, but also iris scanning and full face recognition. You can choose the one you want to use or arrange all three and use them as needed. The Smart Scanning feature added to the S9 / S9 Plus combines the iris scanner and unlock feature so that one method will unlock your phone even in situations where the other does not (although Intelligent Scan is not safe enough to verify cellular payments).
To set up an Intelligent Scan, find the Biometric header from the Lock Screen and Security section in Settings. Tap Smart Scan, and S9 / S9 Plus will guide you through the first process of registering your face, then scanning your iris. After you complete both steps, you can enable Smart Scanning.
To unlock your phone with a fingerprint, the same Lock Screen and Security section displays the Fingerprint Scanner option under Biometrics. After entering your PIN, you are asked to swipe the sensor next to the camera. It may take several attempts to provide enough data and will be faster if you use your fingertips.
2. Activate and Manage Find My Mobile
It happens to all of us sooner or later: whether your device is finally stolen or just misplaced, you will expect an easy way to find it. Fortunately, the Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus comes with Find My Mobile, a feature that you can activate so you can find and control the phone from Samsung's Find My Mobile website remotely. You can even instruct your handset to send its last location to the Find My Mobile server before the battery dies.
Open Settings, then Screen Lock and Security. From there, scroll down and tap Find My Phone. Sign in using your Samsung Account and follow the instructions on the screen to activate the service.

3. Access the Camera Quickly
The enhanced camera on the Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus and S9 / S9 Plus + is so sophisticated that my digital SLR camera will continue to collect dust. Quick Launch helps you enter the camera faster.
If you open the camera and tap the Gear settings button, you will see a long screen option. Tap the Quick Launch switch then every time you press the power button twice, the camera will start.
4. Activate Two Applications on a Separate Screen
With App Pair, you can launch two applications simultaneously running on top of each other or side by side (depending on how you hold the phone.) Having two applications running at the same time is great when you need to research a topic while having an email window open to write the result, but I used it to catch the Mets game in MLB At Bat, while reading the news.
Be careful, features do not work with each application, and some are limited in separate screen modes. (MLB At Bat won't let you stream audio or video from a game directly on a separate screen for example.)
Start at the Edge Panel, which can be accessed by swiping from the side of the screen. Tap one of the boxes with the plus button in it to add to the Application Edge Panel, then tap the Create Pair Application icon in the following screen. From here you can choose from a multi-window list of supported applications to change to the Application Pair, and even change the order so that it appears above and the others appear below it. The resulting combination will be saved in the Apps Edge.
There is another method if you want to save a collection of applications stored on the home screen. Start by tapping the latest Application icon at the bottom which looks like a pair of horizontal Ls. The application you have recently used appears; those that can be divided have a pair of rectangles next to the big X in the upper right.
Scroll through the options and tap the first application you want to pair. The screen will be divided horizontally with the application available for the pair shown below. Choose one of them as your second application.
After setting up a separate screen, you can adjust and save the pair. Tap the small dash between the screens and you will see an interface that allows you to exchange content, set it as a half-size rectangle from one above the other or go back to see one screen. If you think the two applications work together well, tap on the pentagon with the + part inside. This pair will be added to the cellphone's Home screen for later use.
5. Activate AOD Always On Display
The latest Samsung phones display Always On Display that shows the time, incoming messages, and other info, not just blank. The feature is back with the Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus, and as before, you need to set it to make a profit.
From Settings, open the Display section and unlock Screen and security. After tapping Always On Display, choose whether you want to work always (turn off) or only for certain times (active). Tap the time listed to adjust it and what is displayed. You can also set S9 / S9 Plus to adjust the screen brightness automatically.
To adjust what appears on the Always Active Screen, go to Screen Lock and Security, then tap Clock and FaceWidgets. You can change the Clock Style into several different designs and colors, including the choice of analog clock, world clock, calendar, and even the date, time, and old battery readings that are the default on the Galaxy S6 Edge. 6. Register with Samsung Pay
Samsung Pay has grown since its launch, working with many banks and American Express. It also has a generous gift program. But if you want to pay just by tapping your phone, you must prepare the service on your S9 / S9 Plus.
Get it by tapping the Samsung Pay icon, which takes you to registration. After you enter the Samsung account, you will be asked to add a credit or debit card - you can scan that information with the S9 / S9 Plus camera. You will get a verification code from your bank that can be entered into your mobile to prepare everything.
Note that the Smart Scan security feature is not safe enough to verify payment, so you must have a fingerprint sensor, iris scan, or PIN settings to confirm your Samsung Pay purchase.
7. Set your screen
S9 and S9 + Plus have the same long screen 2.960 x 1.440 Super AMOLED as its predecessor. And with that screen there are many customization options to make everything easy in your eyes.
In the Display section of the Settings menu, you can fine-tune your S9 / S9 Plus way of displaying images. I recommend Adaptive Display, which allows me to adjust the color temperature on my screen. Other options include AMOLED Cinema, AMOLED Photo and Basic modes, the latter of which display the least color saturation if you prefer a more natural look. Sliders allow you to heat or cool the screen. Finally, if you press Advanced Options you can change the balance between red, blue and green tones.
8. Activate Full Screen
Like the S8, the S9 / S9 Plus screen is long and narrow, using an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9 rather than the more traditional 16: 9 format. Even though this older look is becoming more common, you will still find applications that don't need to take advantage of all the screens, leaving an empty area at both ends. Other people can be set to be displayed in full screen.
In the View section of the Settings folder, tap Full Screen Application to open a list of applications that can and cannot support full screen mode; the gray one is forbidden. At the bottom, you will see a list of applications that have been activated.
Alternatively, if you open the application and see the option to tap near the navigation bar to activate full screen mode, use it to activate the full screen feature for that specific application.

10. Make Your Screen More Sensitive
Most phones that have additional screen protectors often require a harder touch to register your wishes with the screen. There is no more with S9 / S9 Plus, where you can adjust the screen sensitivity, even if only to a certain level.
Open the Advanced Settings section, where you will find the Touch Sensitivity option completely at the bottom. Tap the button to activate it.
The screen must now be more sensitive to your touch, but the changes may be excessive. If the phone reacts to an accidental knock or starts making a call from your pocket, you might want to turn off this feature.

11. Activate Bixby Running
Want to utilize the power of artificial intelligence to help maximize S9 / S9 Plus? Bixby's assistant from Samsung returns S9 / S9 Plus with some newly discovered power. But before you can direct your S9 / S9 Plus camera at lunch and ask Bixby to give you the number of calories (among other skills), you must prepare an assistant.
Press the Bixby button next to your new cellphone to begin the registration and training process that will help Bixby understand what you are saying. Describe for 10 or 15 minutes to get yourself, the phone and Bixby up to speed.
If you want to change certain features, such as enabling Voice Input or Type Keyboard or deactivate, or choose individual applications for Bixby to display as a card, tap the three-point Menu icon on the top right of Bixby Home, followed by Settings to more highly customize Samsung's virtual assistant .
12. Mark your contact
The ability of your cellphone to store contacts makes it a great place to store everyone in your business and personal life. But what about people who don't need to rate full entries in your contacts, such as occasional service providers or take-away restaurants? Now you can tag calls with descriptions or names that appear the next time they call but will not appear in your Contacts list.
After you make a call from someone, open the Phone application and tap Recently. Tap the gray caller head, and on the next page, select Add Tag under the caller's telephone number. You can add 25 descriptive character tags - "pizza" for your favorite places, for example - which will appear in the next call.
13. Thematic presentation
Like other phones, you can adjust the S9 / S9 Plus display with themes and wallpapers. Samsung provides a large number of themes that range from starry nights to skulls and have a market to buy other people; the most expensive are a few dollars.
In the Settings section, open Wallpapers and Themes, which will open lots of designs that you can use for your cellphone. When I hunt for themes, I move the slider near the top to New to see the latest additions. Select what you want and tap on it to enter it on your cellphone.

14. Adjust your Main Screen
One of the best things about Android is giving users the freedom to rearrange their home screen according to their wishes. The Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus offers a variety of options, from allowing you to resize the app grid to allow you to skip the app drawer completely by saving your application on multiple home screens.
Long press on empty space on the main screen then tap Wallpaper, Theme, Widget or Main Screen Settings to make changes.
